Berland's Web site Manifesto:

From the job site to the Web site, Berland's has always strived to stay on the cutting edge of the tool business. We realize that the word "tool" has a different meaning in computer speak - but only slightly different. In both cases, a tool is supposed to make your job or your life easier. Computer evolution has been dramatic during the past decade or so. Tool evolution, however, has spanned countless millennia. At Berland's you'll witness where tools have evolved. All power to the future. All respect to the past.

Purpose of this web site:

To make available to the world a couple of the most talked about tool stores in the world. By browsing through our pages we hope to make available to a wider audience the feeling of a trip to one of our stores. We are the kind of place people rave about. A trip through our store makes a person feel good. We've been called:
"The Carpenter Candy Store"
"The Temple of Manhood"
"The Marshall Field's of Tools" and
"The Tool NUTS Heaven"
Our motto through the years has been "If we don't have it, you don't need it"
